About

Narween Otto was born and raised in Australia and is a mix of Vietnamese and Australian. She has been a student of Yoga since 1995 and started teaching Anusara style yoga in Los Angeles in 2002. In 2004 she traveled to India and Nepal to live in the ashram of her Guru, Swami Chidvilasananda, teaching Hatha Yoga as her seva (selfless service) and studying meditation, yoga scripture and Ayurveda. It was in the ashram while suffering from a chronic low- back injury that Narween was first exposed to Pilates. Upon returning to the US she was fortunate to study within the rigorous apprenticeship of Joseph Pilates’ protégé, Romana Kryzanoswka. Narween has both lived and taught in Los Angeles, India, Miami Beach and New York and is happy to call Manhattan home. She teaches Pilates (mat and full apparatus), Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Foam Roller Stretch to both group classes and private clients. Her clear, detailed style and playful perspective are unique. Narween has zero interest in show-off-pretzel shapes in Yoga and believes Pilates should be fun, fluid and not too serious. She believes in intelligent cross-training for the body and mind for optimal results and to avoid injury and boredom. Narween endeavors to support each client in their wellness and fitness goals while always remembering that we are each on our own unique journey towards the sublime.
